‘Southwold’
The Space
July 2020
Directed by Sabrina Richmond

In May I wrote a piece for The Space’s Locked Down, Looking Up programme. The brief was to write a two-hander to be performed live on Zoom.

‘Southwold’ is a comedy about a young offender named Ryan. He agrees to speak via Zoom to an elderly woman, June, for twenty minutes, three times a week. He’s doing it because it could count towards early release, she’s doing it because she needs a friend. They start worlds apart from each other but, bonded by their shared love of Twiglets and 20th century erotica, they start to find that they have more in common than they thought.

More information about the project can be found here in an article from The Stage.
